Big Build cannot proceed as planned however the foundations, already in place in Bacau, will provide a solid base for the future of 40 families when it is rescheduled.

Habitat Romania, working alongside families and the wider community, partners with city and regional authorities to serve thousands of people in desperate need of safe and affordable homes.
Working in partnership with the municipal government, Habitat Romania had been given permission to build homes on previously unused industrial land in February 2016. Recent municipal and legislative changes have resulted in unexpected delays at the municipal level and have made it impossible to move forward until all approvals are granted.
Jenny continued ‘We are thankful for the understanding and support of Big Build volunteers, who in spite of this disappointment have been focused on the impact of delay for families in Bacau. We also want to acknowledge the enormous commitment of donors and supporters whose financial support make this project possible.’
Big Build will proceed. 40 families will have the homes they so much need as soon as it is possible in 2017.
