Fenika's Story: Big Build Families

Big Build 2019 is underway. In 1 week, the team will build 10 homes beside local families, supporting Orphaned and Vulnerable children in the community. This is Fenika, one of the beneficiaries, read her story below.

Fenika is a 40-year-old mother of three children who lives in Maambo Village, Lilongwe. Her husband and father of her children died some years ago.

Fenika is the sole carer of all her children. She works hard, taking on casual labour & piece-works to provide for her family.

The current house the family is forced to live in is not safe, or secure. The roof leaks badly, especially during the rainy season, and Fenika worries that it may fall in if it is not repaired.

As part of Big Build 2019, Serena will work alongside volunteers from across Ireland to build a safe & secure place, that she can call home.
