Working closely with the Communications Manager, the Communications Assistant will help deliver Habitat for Humanity Ireland's social media and marketing strategy which aims to grow awareness, engagement and support for the charity's mission.
There may also be an opportunity to engage in Habitat for Humanity's broader work; this could include supporting with schools/youth engagement, ReStore operations or helping raise the awareness of the organisation at events.
This role is being recruited through the JobStart scheme and is open to everyone. Please don’t be discouraged if you have never worked in retail or have little experience. Full training and mentoring will be provided. This is an opportunity for you to work as part of a team, to learn new skills that will build your CV, and get experience that you can use in many roles going forward.
Potential candidates should have:
Essential skills:
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to be able to convey Habitat for Humanity's mission confidently.
- Previous experience with creating, editing and filming short-form video content (i.e. reels/TikTok videos). This can be in a voluntary, academic or professional setting.
- Strong computer skills and experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
- Positive and flexible approach.
- Willingness to learn.
Desirable skills:
- A third-level or other advanced learning in a relevant subject (Business, Marketing, Advertising, etc.)
