At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone, everywhere needs a place to call home. Our mission is about justice, breaking down barriers and bringing people together to work for safe shelter, not because some people are poor but because we believe that everyone is equal.
You may already know, it’s World Day of Social Justice on Tuesday 20th February, designated by the UN to highlight the need to promote social justice. There are so many barriers to social justice; poverty, exclusion, gender equality, unemployment, human rights, and social protections.
We passionately believe in the power of young people to shape our future. This year, we would love to engage Change Maker students to highlight the importance of social justice.
We're asking you to submit a short video or blog post answering the question below, drawing on your passion for social justice and experience as Habitat Change Makers.
Three winning entries will be chosen by Habitat staff and posted across Habitat Ireland & Habitat Europe & Middle East social media channels on World Day of Social Justice as part of our ‘Youth Social Media Takeover’. All students who take part will receive a certificate of participation to recognise their support.
Please share this opportunity with past or present Change Makers students in your school and encourage them to raise their voices on World Day of Social Justice this year.
